Lanie Ruth Kilcup
A big congratulations to Darrell and Cari Kilcup and family on the arrival of their newest family addition. Born at 5:02pm, September 11, and weighing in at 9 lbs 10 oz (you couldn't just put your finger on the scale during the weighing to give her one more ounce?) , and a length of 20 3/4 inches, she is a healthy little girl. In case you haven't seen their 100 Toes blog, see here for more great pictures. Thanks to Darrell and family for sharing the pictures with everyone. Darrell, one more and you got yourself a baseball team. But then again, I hear they are cheaper by the dozen :-)

Prayers and Praises - Continue to pray the Luke 10:2b prayer asking God to send more workers into His harvest field in the valley of the sun. - Praise God for those faithfully taking part in the Valleys Saturday Morning Mountaintop Prayer the first Saturday of each month. Plan now to take part October 6. - Pray for Darrell and family in their outreach at the McDonalds at their local Wal-Mart. May God bless this work and make it an example of what the Body of Christ can do. - Pray for Larry's daughter who recently lost her job as director of a small daycare. With her husband in the Army and two young daughters, she has a lot of challenges. Especially pray that God would draw her back to Him. - Pray for Ken, a new believer in the east valley. Pray for Larry and John as they help him grow in his faith. - Pray for all our family members who don't know the Lord. - Praise God for the Evangelism in Depth seminar presented this last weekend by Ed Waken. Pray that the results is a total mobilization of those who attended. - Pray for our next gathering in the fall. The churches in the east valley are planning to host this gathering, probably in the Tempe area.

Military News Aaron Spence, currently deployed on the USS Nimitz, is somewhere in the Pacific on his way back to San Diego. Since the movements of ships is somewhat classified, he cannot let even his mother know when he will arrive there until its officially posted. Debbie is planning to travel to San Diego to see him before he is transferred back to Whitbey Island, WA. Liz De La Rosa, Aarons fiance, has completed her basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC and has begun her job training. Pray that she and Aaron will be able to see each other during the holidays. Bradley Pontious, Larry's son-in-law, is still in his job training in Ft. Gordon, GA. He is expected to complete this and be home in November.
If you have a relative or friend who is currently serving in our military, please let me know so that I can put an update in the newsletter. We will continue to keep those people we know of lifted up in prayer for their safety.
Don't forget to read Michael Yon's dispatches at http://www.michaelyon-online.com/ for completely unbiased reporting on the war in Iraq.

New Resources House2house has made available a downloadable DVD file of "When You Come Together". This video is produced by House2house and is a great introduction to house church that includes interviews with house church leaders from around the world. You can download and play on your computer or write to a DVD for viewing on your TV. Keep in mind that it is a very large file and can be found here.
New Testament Reformation Foundation (NTRF) also has a DVD resource called "Searching for Church: A Journey Through Time and Place". This is a 30 minute DVD that gives a very high-level history lesson on how the church got to where it is today and the relevance of house church. It can be ordered from their website here for only $4.95.

Personal Message
Last Saturday, Ed Waken brought the Evangelism in Depth message to the orgainic/simple/home church community in Phoenix. I was personally disappointed at the attendance but very encouraged by the message. Maybe many feel like they can't learn anything new about evangelism. Well, those of us who came all the way from Gilbert could learn a lot and we did. We will spend a second Sunday talking about this and how each one of us can use this knowledge in our everyday relationships. If you couldn't come to this seminar, I encourage you to find out more by visiting the website for Evangelism in Depth. Contact Ed Waken if you would like him to present this to your group.
