Greetings!
I have to say Welcome and Happy Easter! to
all our
new subscribers.
Its great to have you join us as part of this
community of believers in Phoenix and Central Arizona.
Note that our sister website,
www.phoenixhousechurch.org has a calendar for
local and regional house church related events.
Please send me an email with
any events you would like to appear in the calendar.
Last month I included a picture of an old landmark in
the area and challenged everyone to guess what it
may be. I had exactly 0 responses.
Therefore, I will not continue this unless there is
interest to do so. Please let me know. BTW, the
old picture of the tepee's was a motel somewhere
along the old US60 in Tempe or Mesa.
The Lord has been moving in some amazing ways this
month. We enjoyed a great workshop; we are seeing
prayer movements in Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa.
This is the Easter weekend so please spend some
extra time in prayer for those that will hear the Good
News this weekend, perhaps for the first time. Also
thank the Lord for your own salvation.
"Therefore, having overlooked the times of
ignorance,
God now commands all people everywhere to repent,
because He has set a day on which He is going to
judge the world in righteousness by the Man He has
appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone
by raising Him from the dead."
(Act 17:30-31)
Praise God! He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!!

Recent Website Changes |
 |
Our sister website,
www.phoenixhousechurch.org,
has changed a bit this last month.
The really big website news for this month is the
addition of a shopping page. This page lists several
advertisers that we have partnered with. All
purchases made from the links or banners on this
page will help support the newsletter and website.
The page has a shortcut,
shopping.phoenixhousechurch.org. Bookmark this
page and go to it when you need to buy books,
electronics, flowers, or when travelling. There is
more on this in the last article of this newsletter.
A new Feature Article is posted on the home page
each week. This article will continue
to be something relavent to house church or church
planting and will change every Sunday. If you have
an article you would like posted, please email it to
me. All past newsletters and feature articles are
being archived on the News page. You can now go
to this page directly using the shortcut
news.phoenixhousechurch.org .
Now there are two ways to get to the Joshua Tree
blog,
blog.phoenixhousechurch.org, or going to
Joshua Tree Blog page on the website. Your
comments on topics of interest to the house church
community are always welcome and encouraged.
If you are not on the map, on the
churches.phoenixhousechurch.org page, please
email
me the nearest main crossroads to where your house
church meets so that we can get a marker on there.
And if your house church has a website, please
send me the URL so that I can put a link on the
website.
It was evident that the idea of pooling resources in
an Association of Phoenix House Churches is not
God's plan for Phoenix at the moment. I will not
pursue this further until there appears to be interest
from other house churches. I have removed the
APAHC page from the website.

Recommended Resource |
 |
One of the resources that I receive regularly and
that I recommend highly comes from Maurice Smith
of the
Parousia Network of House and Cell Churches. I
encourage everyone to go to their website and see
how this network is impacting the city of
Spokane.
A weekly e-letter is sent out to subscribers but it is
also available on this e-letter page. You
can also view past editions from this page. If
you would like to have this come to you each week,
simply click on the subscribe link on that page.

Happenings this past month |

March 25 - Steve Atkerson and Tim Melvin
of the New
Testament Restoration Foundation (NTRF)
travelled to Phoenix for the weekend and held a
workshop discussing the Biblical basis for house
churches. They covered four topics during the day:
Apostolic Tradition, Interactive Church Meetings, The
Lord's Supper, and Concensus Governing. Free
copies of Steve's book, ekklesia were also
given out.
House churches from Payson, Peoria, Phoenix, Mesa,
and Gilbert were present at the workshop.
Steve and Tim were able to spend time in fellowship
with several families Friday night at a dinner at
Mimi's. They spent Friday and Saturday night with
Larry and Sue Johnson. Sunday night, Brennan and
Heather Basler hosted a dinner and provided lodging
for them at their home.
Thanks to all those who attended and helped in the
travel costs for Steve and Tim. Much thanks goes to
Brennan Basler who provided the meeting location
although he could not be there himself.
April 13 - House churches in the Phoenix
area took part in a 24/7 prayer room leading up to
Easter at One Place

Summer Opportunity |
 |
Brethren National Youth Camp (BNYC)
is a camp that has been going on yearly since
about 1950 or so. It is a high quality camp that has
about 2600 teens attend each year from around the
country. It is not an organic event in any way so
don't think that it is. It is a traditional youth camp
experience with good teachers/speakers, great large
group worship leading (Todd Proctor), great outreach
opportunities and much, much more. You can see it
all on the web page. ValleyLife
network is sending 8-10 teens this summer.
The location is at Biola University in
Southern
California. Anyone interested could car pool over
with the ValleyLife
group, room with them or simply
grow some new relationships among the teens. Call
or email Ed Waken at 623-341-4181 or
edwaken@aol.com if you are interested.
